This popular Eiffel Tower spoon is an exact replication of a small selection of 4 absinthe spoons originally made for the introduction of the Eiffel Tower at the Exposition Universelle, the World's Fair held in Paris, France in 1889.

Absinthe Spoons were, and are, an integral part of preparing a traditional French/Swiss absinthe (cold water drip method). The  come in a wide variety of designs and sizes. The spoon is placed across the rim of a glass containing a dose of absinthe and is used to hold the sugar cube(s) to sweeten an absinthe. Cold water is slowly poured over the sugar, allowing the sugar to dissolve and fall into the glass as sugar water.

Chrome plated brass; will not tarnish.
