Stemming from a childhood ritual centered around the warm and spicy aroma of chai, Monica Sunny created The Chai Box as a way to breathe her Indian heritage into her sons, as well as the community surrounding her. Using her mother’s recipes along with regional notes, she developed a small-batch chai concentrate using spices hand-picked in Kerala, India, as well as additional elements in each region featured, and blends them in Atlanta, GA to send out across the world.

Nilgiri Mountains nestled between the borders of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Nilgiri Hills, also known as the Blue Mountains, is famous for its tea gardens where tea is grown at elevations ranging from 1,000 to 2,500 meters above sea level. This mountainous region produces exceptional varieties of green, white, and oolong teas and offers breathtaking views.
