Astier de Villatte is a ceramics workshop in Paris that revives and modernizes the tradition of 18th century craftsmanship, creating objets d’art inspired by discarded treasures unearthed at brocantes across France.
This line of timeless, hand-sculpted ceramics and fragrance including incense holders, incense, candles, and eau de cologne.
Materials & Craft
The wax formulation is unique, a mixture of plant-based material and beeswax free from paraffin or petrochemical derivatives. The wick, woven in pure cotton, ensures combustion without traces and allows fragrance to fill a room for 60 to 70 hours. Handcrafted blown glass tumblers from Tuscany have a transparent, slightly grey color, and light bubbles, giving them a unique, timeless appearance. Labels and packaging are lead-printed on old presses by SAIG, one of the last typographic workshops in the world.
