We Stand with Ukraine

Dear Paris Market Family,

When I was born, my father gifted me with a name to honor his Ukrainian homeland and tether me to the roots of the culture he left behind. Taras, voiced with a rolling "r" and conviction in each consonant. Named for the famed Ukrainian poet, Taras Shevchenko, as well as resistance fighter/Cossack Taras Bulba, it offered me a sense of connection to revisit time and again as I made my own immigration from Canada to America. While I am pleased to consider this country my home, I have never been more proud of my Ukrainian heritage than in the past several weeks.

Russia's invasion has pushed Ukraine and its incredibly resilient and proud people to the forefront of everyone's minds. The horrific stories and pictures that bombard us daily are difficult to fathom, and while some of my relatives have chosen to fight and other colleagues offer their medical assistance, my physical limitations have led us to help financially.

For the next two weeks, The Paris Market & Brocante will match dollar for dollar any purchases made online through our website, as well as affiliated Fallen Aristocrat's, up to $10,000 to help provide food and shelter, fund medical services, and provide emergency relief through a thoroughly vetted GoFundMe Ukrainian humanitarian fund. We hope you will join us in honoring these people—my people's—courage and hope in their fight against a tyrannical force.

мир,
Tapac

I visited your shop for the first time last week and bought a wonderful Latin cross. My father was Ukrainian and I was raised in Ukrainian traditions and culture albeit in England. He was a dancer and choir singer after his time in the Insurgent Army in WW2. I am meeting so many Ukrainians, both young and old in these dreadful days.
