Vida Evenson is a representational oil painter whose work is inspired by the light, sea, and quiet rhythms of life on a small Greek island. Originally from Minneapolis, she began her creative life in theater, where performance, movement, and early experiences with yoga and meditation shaped her understanding of creativity as something lived, not just practiced. She studied fine art and sociology, both of which continue to inform her work—exploring how we see the world and how we move through it. After years of travel, she settled on the island of Ammouliani, where she now lives with her husband, a fisherman, and their twin daughters. Vida returned to painting after years devoted to raising her family, bringing with her a deep observational sensitivity. Her work reflects a balance of structure and intuition, influenced by her studies with painter Johannes Vloothuis and later mentorship with Colleen Caubin. Her work has been exhibited throughout Greece and Italy, and is held in private collections internationally. She is currently represented by Paris Market in Savannah. Through both her work and teaching, she shares her belief that creativity is not confined to the studio, but is present in the way we see, choose, and engage with everyday life.
