Baking Instructions

You will need 1 ½ cups of water, and a Dutch oven.

This is a great mix to start the night before, and bake in the morning. Pour the bread mix into a large bowl, and combine it with the packet of yeast. Add 1 ½ cups of lukewarm water little by little, stirring until the dough is sticky. Cover the bowl, and let rise on the counter for 12 hours.

Once the dough has doubled in size, preheat the oven to 450°F with an ungreased Dutch oven with the lid on inside. As it heats, tip the dough onto a heavily floured surface and shape it into a ball. Let it rest until the Dutch oven is hot, then remove it carefully from the oven and drop the dough inside. Close the lid, and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the lid, and bake for another 15 until the surface is golden brown. Tip the loaf out from the Dutch oven, and tap the bottom for a hollow sound to check it’s done. Cool for one hour, serve with butter, and enjoy!
