You will need ¾ sticks of butter, 1 large egg, and an 8x8 pan.
Preheat oven to 350°F. Melt butter into a glass bowl, and allow to cool completely. Add the egg and dry mix, and stir well to combine. The batter will be slightly stiff. Press it into a lightly greased 8x8 pan (do not use larger) and bake for 20-22 minutes. The lemon squares will rise as they cook, and fall once they cool to preserve a moist, dense interior. Cut into 16 large or 32 small squares, and sprinkle with powdered sugar to serve.
